Good Thanksgiving! It is 4:29 am EST which means the sane among you is asleep but I am a mother and a T-giving roadtripper, so it means I am up performing the Tetris of Luggage in tne back of our stationwagon. Of course, first I am typing this, as the interwebs hasn't yet figured out how to let us blog with our minds - thank god. We are off to the City of Brotherly Love (thanks Hungry Ghost!) and Charm City and the Nation's Capital with a small human in the back seat and neatly labelled folders of information and maps gleaned from bloggers (thanks again Hungry Ghost!) and design*sponge respectively. so I do hope it works out. In the small talk that precedes a holiday, my various work and school places were SHOCKED we weren't doing the family T-giving thing. I sometimes explain how I am Canadian and though it is growing on me, T-giving is still sort of an abstract and awkwardly placed holiday for me - kind of a gateway to panic because when we get back to work, it's freaking December 1st. And also, it's the week before final papers are due at school so I'm bringing the biggest, heaviest bag of stupid library-related books you've ever seen, which I hope to - but don't expect to - crack. Okay, have a wonderful real American thanksgiving and love your families if you're lucky enough to be near 'em so that you don't have to invent mini-holidays so you won't be sad that you're not.
