A hearty congratulations to MYRA LEE for oh,I don't know, passing the California bar. (I would so totally leave a comment but like me, you stopped accepting comments when Guestbook went Kaput). Sunrise, Sunset, how you people change and grow right before my eyes. Blogging gets really interesting when it becomes a longitudinal study, you know?
I have been sorely missing my old touchstones - thrifting, long walks, matinees (I have the library covered) - but today I managed a long walk in a wool coat and to hit THREE thrift stores. It was just what I needed, though two were essentially clothes only and I ended up with yes, more clothes for the baby. Think baby knickerbockers. I try to find old, odd clothes for her that would never be made today. To my great chagrin, the best thrift store is now charging $4 for a record album! We're talking 100 Living Strings and everything! Mormon Tabernacle Choir! $4. Boo. But I did get a hardcover 1977 Bridge to Teribithia with dustjacket, which was kind of cool. And a push toy deal-io for Simone because walking and pushing is just mind-blowingly fun for her and I did not wish to spend another $30 on a one month toy of amazement. And no one wants to buy/take/steal your baby toys when you are done with them, trust me. Also, I accidentally shoplifted two pyrex mugs printed in bamboo green because I put them in the stroller and forgot. They are pretty. Oops. Then we accidentally found the only vegetarian Korean BBQ joint in NC, I swear, which was fortuitous, as I had been desperately craving kim chee for several months now. It was just what the doctor ordered on a blustery day, which is actually my favourite kind of day because no other day says to you "Hey! get under this blanket and let that kim chee settle, won't you?"
